SoDa is born from nearly 30 years of experience within the blinds and curtain industry. We are here to help others who wish to progress and succeed, be it a one man band to large commercial operations.

In the 90's, I started my journey by being offered a temporary job as a blind fitter for a commercial company based in St. Albans. Working as a trainee fitter, I learnt alongside some impressive installation engineers and when the fitting work was a bit slack, I spent time manufacturing blinds in their factory. This gave me an insight for problem solving out on site, using both the skills I learnt within the factory and previous employment as a mechanical engineer.

Moving on, I joined a major retailer in sales, in the soft furnishings department, which introduced me to curtains as well as blinds. This opened up another dimension to my experience as I started to look at tracking systems as well, including motorised systems. It was a natural progression to start my own business installing for other companies, having the knowledge of various products and the fitting skills to match. My original company lasted for over 10 years and starting a family meant that I had to dial back my commitments, but working for a local company to me for another 10 years meant that I always had my hand in. Becoming self employed again was no big deal when I started representing a new blind company, and from

here SoDa was created to help other businesses.
